No Snow

On the news last night they kept going on about how we're going to have loads of snow. I thought beforehand when I heard people talking about it at work that we wouldn't have any, but after seeing the news I thought, well, maybe we will have some then.

This morning I woke up and looked out of the window. Guess what? No snow whatsoever. It turns out that the whole country has snow except the part I live in. I actually thought the whole thing might be a conspiracy, made up by some bored news reporters who maybe had shares in wool and wanted to increase sales of hats, gloves and scarves or something, until someone talked to a client at work who lived up north somewhere and apparently they had 8 inches of snow. Which isn't actually that much really is it? We got out a tape measure and it really is less than it sounds. Naturally this was followed by lots of innuendos involving things being of a certain size, or not.

I still can't get onto my server to upload the index page for my website. It's been a week now. A number of days ago I sent an email asking about it but I haven't got a reply. Even the website for the company is still down. I'm thinking about changing to a different host soon as my years payment will be up in a little while anyway.

Edit:
Well, I've discovered my year is actually up, which would explain why I can't get on the server, but not why I haven't had a reply or been reminded to make another payment. Well, this is really awkward.

Maybe it is a good thing you didn't much snow. Some other English folks I read who live farther north say it's a panic. Roads closed, mass hysteria, etc., etc.

I always think it's funny because 6-8 inches really isn't that much. New Yorkers wouldn't even blink.

You poor Brits. ^_-

Yeah I completely agree, it's nothing really. I'm sure there were never these panics a few years ago, it's just the media again making a fuss out of nothing. Honestly, they make a fuss about just about anything, like that whole Big Brother thing that nobody actually even cared about, and then the media has the cheek to say that they were forced to report on it because of 'the public mood'. What rubbish! The media seem to make the news rather than report on it.
